ABOUT ROYA
I write stories about the quiet things that change us.
Brand architect by day. Storyteller, always.
TWO LIVES, ONE INSTINCT
Reimagining voice, on and off the page
By day, Roya is a brand architect — reimagining what a company sounds like, how it holds itself, what it’s really trying to say. At night, she’s doing the same thing for people who don’t exist yet: Julian, Mira, and the memory-fragments of a woman who came to a funeral she was never invited to.
Both jobs ask the same question: what’s the truest version of this voice?
WHERE THE STORIES COME FROM
A Persian root. A Canadian soul.
Identity and longing aren’t themes Roya chose — they’re territory she inherited. Her fiction unravels love not as a fairytale, but as something survived, earned, and deeply human. Layered with the spaces between memory and truth, because that’s the space she’s always written from.
THE UNGLAMOROUS PART
Building something real, from the bones up
When she’s not writing or reimagining a brand’s voice, you’ll find her knee-deep in a home project, power tools in hand. It’s the same instinct as the writing — take something unfinished, and build it into something that holds.
